ROSEBURG – The South Eugene Axe spoiled senior night for the Roseburg boys with a 59-43 victory over the Indians on Friday night in Roseburg.

Roseburg trailed by just one-point after the first eight minutes, but the Axe turned the offense up in the second quarter and went on to outscore the Tribe 33-16 through the second and third periods.

South Eugene (11-12; 6-5 SWC) led by as much as 28 points in the fourth. The Indians rallied a bit in the fourth quarter, but the score was never in jeopardy.

Jay Elmore scored a game-high 28 points to lead South Eugene. Will Graves added 12.

Roseburg’s Collin Warmouth scored 18 points and Cody Johnson chipped in 10.

Prior to warmups, the Roseburg Indians honored four seniors on the roster. Jon Crince, Cody Johnson, Noah Medak, and Luke Lucido were all given a round of applause from the black and orange faithful as they stood at mid-court with family and friends.

Up next for Roseburg will be the regular season finale at Grants Pass on Tuesday.
