ALBANY – The No. 1 Umpqua women continued their winning ways with an 89-42 victory over the Linn-Benton Road Runners Wednesday night.
The RiverHawks started hot and doubled-up the Road Runners in the first quarter and then outscored them 45-17 over the second and third quarters to build a 40-point advantage. UCC continued to stretch its lead in the fourth quarter and finished the contest with its widest margin of the game.
All 11 Umpqua players got into the game and 10 finished with at least two points. The RiverHawks shot 50 percent for the game and made 9-of-18 from three-point distance.
Taylor Stricklin scored 21 to lead the RiverHawks. Jordan Stotler and Bria Thames each had double-doubles and Daisy Powell pulled down a team-high 13 boards.
The win stretches the Umpqua women’s winning streak to 23-games. The team has a week off before its next game on Wednesday at Southwestern Oregon.
