ALBANY – The Umpqua men’s basketball team earned its second upset win over Linn-Benton this season with an 81-76 victory fueled by some hot shooting.

UCC shot 48-percent from the floor and 40-percent from behind the arch to down the Road Runners. The RiverHawks broke the game open with a 19-4 run midway through the first half and went on to lead the rest of the game.

Eric Klekas led the way for UCC, making 4-of-10 from long distance and finishing with a game-high 22 points. Connor Shaw also had four three-pointers and added 18 for the RiverHawks. Umpqua had four players score in double figures.

The win moves the RiverHawks into a tie for third in the South Region standings with Linn-Benton. Umpqua remains two games behind South Region leader Portland.

Up next, UCC will get Saturday off and get back to action next week at Southwestern Oregon.
