COTTAGE GROVE — Cottage Grove’s Trenton Grover came off the bench to hit six three-pointers and lead the Lions to a 64-46 victory over Sutherlin Friday night at Cottage Grove.

The Lions (2-1, 10-5 Sky-Em) had 11 three-pointers in the game. They jumped out to a 17-8 lead and led 33-17 at halftime. Every time the Bulldogs made a little run, the Lions had an answer.

Grover finished with a game-high 21 points. Erick Vallejo-Giffin added 17 for the Lions and Jesse Ellingworth had 16.

Trevor Daniels led the Bulldogs (10-7, 2-1 Sky-Em) with 16 points, including three 3-pointers. Albert Christianson chipped in 10, Mason Gill added nine, and Brandon Carr had 8.

Sutherlin goes to Junction City Tuesday for its fifth straight road game and fourth straight conference road game before coming home Friday to face Sisters.
