PORTLAND – The top-ranked men’s and women’s teams in the Northwest Athletic Conference were in action on Saturday in Portland.

The No. 1 ranked Umpqua women rolled past the Portland Panthers 94-52 for their 16th straight victory. Daisy Powell scored 23 points and had a team-high 14 rebounds to lead the undefeated Lady RiverHawks. Jordan Stotler also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.

The Umpqua men were facing No. 1 Portland, but the Panthers were too much and picked up their sixth-straight win with a 97-77 triumph.

Coleman Johnson and David Vasquez each scored 19 points to lead the RiverHawks. Johnson added 10 rebounds for a double-double. The loss was the first in league play for UCC and dropped them into a tie for second in the South Region standings.

Up next for the Umpqua men and women is a home series against Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday.
