ROSEBURG – The No. 1 ranked Umpqua women jumped out to a massive lead early on and rolled over the Linn-Benton Road Runners for a 110-48 victory Wednesday night.

The RiverHawks went on a 13-0 run to start the game and didn’t allow a point to the Road Runners for nearly the first four minutes. UCC finished the first quarter on top 29-3. Linn-Benton’s struggles continued in the second quarter and the Road Runners were held scoreless for another 3.5 minute stretch.

Umpqua (15-0; 2-0 South) just continued to stretch the lead throughout the second half and pushed the advantage to as much as 65 points late in the fourth. The RiverHawks got a complete team effort, with all 11 players spending 11 or more minutes in the game. Seven players finish in double figures for UCC and all 11 players on the roster scored.

Umpqua shot 67-percent from the floor as a team. Merrily Jones led Umpqua’s offensive outburst with 15 points.
