LEBANON – A 15-0 run to end the third quarter propelled the Roseburg boys basketball team to a 58-52 road win over the Lebanon Warriors on Friday night.

Junior Collin Warmouth scored 12 of his team-high 25 points during the third quarter run that helped put the Indians in front for good. Lebanon came out of the halftime break on a mission. The Warriors went on a 7-0 run over a three-and-a-half minute period to erase Roseburg’s 30-27 halftime lead.

Warmouth stopped the run on a put-back shot with 4:31 left to go in the period and made an and-one free throw to get the Indians back to within one. He would make his next three shots and add another pair of free throws to put the Tribe up 45-34 going to the fourth.

Lebanon wasn’t ready to give in, though. The Warriors continued to fire from beyond the arc and drew back to within four points with about a minute left to play, but wouldn’t get any closer.

Lebanon put up 32 three-point attempts and made 12. Senior Brandon Gonyea made 8-of-19 from long distance for a game-high 26 points. No other Warriors’ player reached double figures.

Roseburg got good all-around production against the Warriors. Cody Johnson chipped in 10 points and Jonathan Stone added eight.

The Indians have now won three of their last four games and will next take on the Sheldon Irish on Tuesday to begin Southwest Conference play. The Irish lost to North Medford 71-49 on Friday, as the rest of the SWC began its conference slate.
