SUTHERLIN – The Sutherlin girls basketball team managed only one field goal in the fourth quarter and dropped a 39-35 decision to the Creswell Bulldogs Tuesday night in a non-league game at the Dog Pound.

Sutherlin (5-8), the four-time defending Class 4A champion, lost its fifth straight and fell for the sixth time in seven games.

Karley Bellew led Creswell (9-5) with 18 points.

Sophomore guard Kiersten Haines made five 3-pointers and had 16 points to lead Sutherlin, but didn’t score in the fourth period. Freshman Paige Bailey chipped in eight points and Keirsten Porter scored five for Sutherlin, which is idle until next Tuesday when the Bulldogs travel to North Bend to play the Bulldogs.
