PORTLAND – The All-State football teams were announced Wednesday morning and the South Umpqua Lancers landed six players on the list after finishing second in the Far West League and reaching the first round of the state playoffs in 2017.

Senior Johnathan Warner topped the South Umpqua selections as a first team linebacker. Warner was the Far West League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior for the Lancers.

South Umpqua also had two second team defensive selections. Justin Thompson was chosen along the defensive line and Taylor Gross was selected in the secondary. Senior center Scott Quintana was named to the second team on offense.

Two S.U. players earned honorable mention selections. Senior running back Connor Yates and senior lineman Anthony Rondeau were selected on the offensive side of the ball.

Douglas senior Damon Landry also earned an honorable mention selection. He was selected at both the defensive back and punter positions.
