ROSEBURG – Roseburg senior Cody Johnson scored a season-high 25 points and the Indians’ boys basketball team earned a 68-54 win over the Eagle Point Eagles on Tuesday night.

Johnson made four three-pointers and had his best shooting night of his varsity career. He poured in 14 points in the first half to help Roseburg jump out to a 38-26 lead.

The Indians led by 15-points early in the second quarter, but Eagle Point rallied to within seven. Senior Zakk Scott was a big reason for the turnaround. He poured in 12 of his team-high 24 points in the second period, but it wasn’t enough as the Indians finished the final two minutes of the half on a 9-4 run.

The Indians stretched their lead to 19-points by the end of the third quarter and briefly led by 22 at the start of the final period. Roseburg shot the ball well and finished with its most points of the season.

The Tribe drained eight three-pointers. Collin Warmouth made two from beyond the arch and finished with 14 points. Merhawi Lake added a season-high 11 points off the bench.

Roseburg will next visit the North Eugene Highlanders on Friday. The game tips off at 6:45 p.m. and can be heard on 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.
