ROSEBURG – The Roseburg boys basketball team outscored the Corvallis Spartans 6-2 over the final two minutes and the Indians gutted out a 51-48 victory on Friday night at Roseburg High School.

Collin Warmouth scored Roseburg’s final six points. He gave the Indians the lead with just under two minutes left and then nailed four free throws to keep the Indians in front of the Spartans. Warmouth finished with a game-high 21 points and went 11-for-13 from the free throw stripe.

Corvallis (1-1) had two chances at a three before the final buzzer to tie the game, but the first attempt was blocked and Dyshawn Hobson’s prayer at the horn came up short.

Hobson led Corvallis with 15 points. He got out to a fast start with eight points in the first quarter. Eugene Davis added 12 points for the Spartans.

Roseburg (3-1) has now won three games by a combined eight points and the Indians were within five points in the final minute of their only loss. Up next for Roseburg is a home game against Eagle Point on Tuesday.
