EUGENE – After much speculation a decision has finally been made. News broke Tuesday afternoon and the University of Oregon has confirmed that head coach Willie Taggart has accepted a job offer at Florida State and is leaving the Ducks’ football program.

Taggart spent just one season at Oregon and led the Ducks to a 7-5 season. Co-offensive coordinator Mario Cristobal has been named the interim head coach and will lead the program at the upcoming Las Vegas Bowl against No. 25 Boise State.

With Taggart’s departure, Oregon will immediately begin a nationwide search for a new head coach. Read the full release from the University of Oregon athletic department HERE.
