The women’s college basketball game often gets over-shadowed by the men’s game, but both the Oregon and Oregon State women are ranked in the AP top 25 and off to great starts this year.

The U of O women are 2-0 in the Preseason WNIT Tournament and now gear up for a huge early season showdown. The No. 10 Ducks are on the road Thursday at No. 19 Texas A&M. The winner will advance to the tournament championship game on Sunday.

Oregon is led by sophomore Sabrina Ionescu, who averages 22 points per game. The Ducks have five players currently averaging in double figures.

Thursday’s semifinal game tips off at 5 p.m. The game can be seen on the Watch ESPN app.

The No. 18 Oregon State women improved to 2-0 on the year with a 98-41 win over Utah Valley Wednesday night. The Beavers shot 68.5 percent from the floor and set a new program record with 35 assists.

Senior Marie Gulich went a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor and finished with a game-high 19 points for the Beavers. Mikayla Pivec and Aleah Goodman were both 4-for-4 from three-point land on a night where OSU was on fire. The Beavers tied an all-time mark of 17 made three-pointers.

Up next, the OSU women will host Notre Dame on Sunday morning.
