The high school football season is winding down and the playoff watch continues for many local teams.
The Roseburg Indians are looking to take care of business over the final two weeks of the regular season and see where that gets them. Roseburg can still reach a playoff game by improving its OSAA ranking with wins in its next two games. There’s even still an outside chance the Indians could earn the fourth playoff spot out of the conference, but chances of that will be slim.
But none of that matters unless the Indians win their games, so the focus is on Willamette this week. Roseburg heads to Eugene to face the Wolverines tonight. It’s the final conference game of the year for the Indians. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. on 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.
The Sutherlin Bulldogs finish their league season tonight with a game at Cottage Grove. The contest begins at 7 p.m. and Dan Bain will broadcast live starting at 6:45 p.m. on i101fm or listen online HERE. Sutherlin has added a non-league game to the end of its schedule. Next week the Bulldogs will finish the year with a game at Yamhill-Carlton.
There’s a huge showdown in the Far West League tonight as rivals Douglas and South Umpqua square off in the regular season finale and both teams are fighting to reach the post season.
A win for the Lancers means at worst a 2nd place finish and a home play-in game, but an SU win paired with a North Bend victory would mean a 3-way tie for first. Douglas is in fourth place, but just one-game behind a top 3 finish and a victory would bump the Trojans into a play-in game. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. in Winston.
Glide hosts winless Creswell tonight in hopes of staying within reach of a playoff spot. Oakland visits Monroe in a game that might be “must-win” if the Oakers hope to see the postseason. Find the full schedule of games posted below.
