The home stretch of the high school football season begins tonight. There are only a couple of weeks left before the postseason begins and teams are racing to secure their bids.
The Roseburg Indians will try to bounce back after a disappointing finish to last week’s homecoming game against North Medford. Unfortunately, this week’s opponent won’t provide any easy fixes.
Roseburg hosts defending conference champion South Medford, which is on a path towards a showdown with Sheldon for this year’s conference crown. The Panthers are undefeated in Southwest Conference play and have been rolling over teams in recent weeks. The Indians will need the ball to bounce their way and play at their peak performance to pull off the upset.
Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tune in for coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.
In other match-ups tonight, the Sutherlin Bulldogs host Sweet Home at 7 p.m. Tune in for coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on i101-FM.
There’s a log-jam for second place in the Far West League with two weeks left to play. South Umpqua, Douglas, and North Bend are all tied at 2-1. Douglas and North Bend will help break the tie as they square off tonight in Winston. Meanwhile, South Umpqua visits winless Siuslaw.
