SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Pac-12 basketball season gets the ball rolling Thursday as coaches and players make their way to San Francisco for the conference media day.

The day gets started with a word from Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott at 10 a.m. Then, at 11 a.m., coaches and players will begin sitting down with broadcasters from the Pac-12 Network to preview the upcoming season. Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle will be the first to step in front of the camera followed by OSU players Drew Eubanks and Stephen Thompson Jr.

The Oregon Ducks will be represented by head coach Dana Altman and players Elijah Brown and Payton Pritchard. The Ducks will be on the Pac-12 Network coverage just after 2 p.m.

Players and coaches will also spend time taking questions from other media members covering the conference. The Pac-12 will also release its preseason coaches poll Thursday morning.

The Pac-12 women’s basketball media day was held Wednesday in San Francisco. The Oregon women were picked to finish second in the conference according to the preseason coaches poll. The Ducks received three first place votes and were tied with Stanford for second in the poll.

Oregon State was picked to finish fourth according to the coaches. The Beavers are the defending regular season champions after going 16-2 in conference last year.

The college basketball season begins in less than a month. The Oregon men start October 30th and the OSU men start November 3rd. Both women’s teams start the year on November 5th.
