ROSEBURG – The Roseburg wrestling program has produced yet another NCAA Division I caliber wrestler. Senior Hunter Sparks announced his commitment to the Cal Poly wrestling program in San Luis Obispo, California on Tuesday. Sparks will continue his wrestling career with the Mustangs following his final season with the Indians.

Sparks was a state champion his sophomore year for Roseburg and has placed at state in all three of his seasons with the Indians. He will return this winter as one of the Tribe’s top wrestlers.

Sparks will join 2017 Roseburg graduate Haydn Maley in the Pac-12 next year. Maley is wrestling for Stanford this season.

Last season, Cal Poly finished sixth in the team standings at the Pac-12 Tournament. The Mustangs also scored half a point at the 2017 NCAA championships.
