ROSEBURG – The Roseburg volleyball team begins its final week of the regular season Tuesday night and a post-season berth is so close the Indians can taste it.

The Tribe is currently third in the Southwest Conference and with a win against South Medford on Tuesday, Roseburg could guarantee no worse than a fourth place finish. The top four teams in the conference automatically advance to the state playoffs.

The Indians will also look to climb their way up the standings as the season draws to an end. Roseburg could still finish 2nd or even 1st if the league leading Sheldon Irish completely fell apart down the stretch.

Roseburg and South Medford tipoff Tuesday in Medford at 6:45 p.m.

The Far West League volleyball title is up for grabs over the final two games of the league season. South Umpqua and Marshfield are tied atop the standings, but there’s still a lot to be decided.

The Lady Lancers visit winless Brookings-Harbor Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Marshfield is coming to Winston to take on the Douglas Trojans. Douglas is in fifth place, but could help county rival South Umpqua by upsetting Marshfield.
