ROSEBURG – The Roseburg volleyball team earned a well-rounded victory over the South Medford Panthers in a Southwest Conference match on Tuesday.

The Indians got contributions from a number of players to win 3-0 and improve to 2-1 in conference games. Hannah Bartlett led Roseburg with nine kills. Faith Jordan added six and Alyssa Fox and Sophie Ballard each added five. Taylor Russell collected four aces and dished out 26 assists.

The Indians will continue conference play on Thursday at South Eugene.

In the Far West League, where teams started league play on Tuesday, the South Umpqua volleyball team held serve at home by defeating North Bend 3-1. The Lancers lost the first set, but rallied to win three straight for the victory.

The Douglas Trojans had no problem on the coast and opened the league schedule with a 3-0 win over Brookings-Harbor Tuesday. Lainey Rincon and Juliana Allen distributed the ball effectively combining for 52 assists. Maisen Locker and Calyissa Anderson led the team in kills with six and five, respectively.
