League play begins Tuesday night for Far West volleyball teams. The Douglas volleyball finished tied with Siuslaw for first after the regular season in 2016, but the Lady Trojans lost a league playoff and finished second. South Umpqua finished fourth a year ago, but still reached the post season.

The Trojans and Lancers get the league season started against coast teams. Douglas heads to the south coast for a meeting with Brookings-Harbor, while South Umpqua hosts North Bend. Both matches start at 6:30 p.m.

The Roseburg volleyball team hosts the South Medford Panthers for a conference match Tuesday night. The Indians recently beat South Medford 2-0 in a best-of-three match at a tournament in Eugene. The match was tight and both sets won by Roseburg were decided by six or less points. Tuesday’s game will get underway at 6:45 p.m. from Roseburg High School.
