High school football teams throughout the state of Oregon will hope to get back to action Friday night. Teams have been monitoring the air quality all week long and conditions have improved, but the smoky conditions will have some impact.

The Roseburg football team has been keeping a close eye on the conditions in Portland as the Indians prepare to visit David Douglas. As of Friday morning, much of Portland’s east side has improved to good AQI levels, meaning the Indians should be able to play their first road game of the season against the Scots, as long as conditions don’t change dramatically.

Roseburg is looking to win its first game of 2017 and get revenge for a loss to the Scots last year. Friday’s kickoff begins at 7 p.m. Tune in for coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on CBS Sports Radio 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.

The Sutherlin Bulldogs will stay in Douglas County for another non-conference rivalry match-up. The Bulldogs visit Winston to face the Douglas Trojans on Friday, although air quality could be a concern. Air conditions in Roseburg as of Friday morning were at the Moderate level, which is good enough to play, but close to a level where the game might need to be postponed.

Tune in for the coverage of Sutherlin and Douglas on i101 FM starting with pregame at 6:45 p.m.

South Umpqua has had to move the location of its game on Friday. The Lancers were scheduled to visit North Valley, but due to poor air quality the game will be played at 4 p.m. on the coast at Marshfield High School.
