FOREST GROVE, ORE. – The Umpqua Community College volleyball team picked up a non-conference preseason match on Thursday after having a contest in Eugene cancelled earlier in the week. The RiverHawks traveled to Forest Grove and downed Pacific University 3-1 (25-15; 25-16; 19-25; 25-21).

South Umpqua graduate Emma Lind led UCC with 12 kills. Madison Becker added 29 assists for the RiverHawks and Kylie Merlino had 12 digs.

Umpqua played a fairly clean match with limited errors, especially early on. The RiverHawks committed just two errors in the first two sets. Those number rose slightly to 4 and 5 errors in the third and fourth sets, respectively.

The Lady RiverHawks next start the Clackamas Preseason Tournament on Friday at Clackamas Community College. UCC will play three games on the first day of the tournament. Check out the schedule below.
