ROSEBURG – NASCAR returns to the Douglas County Speedway this weekend when the K&N Pro Series West rolls into town for the Clint Newell Auto Group Toyota 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts.
The K&N Pro Series West visited Roseburg last year and once again will bring plenty of drama to the track. This year’s standings are neck-and-neck at the top between teammates Todd Gilliland and Chris Eggleston, who are separated by just two points.
Gilliland won the series championship last year as a rookie, setting a NASCAR record as the youngest champion in any NASCAR national or touring series.
The races will be held Saturday, but there will be plenty going on leading up to the races. Drivers will be on hand Thursday at Clint Newell Toyota for a meet-and-greet from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be another meet-and-greet at the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Winston on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The gates open Saturday at 4 p.m. Leading up to the K&N West races will be the Cascade Community Credit Union Columbia River Legends Shootout and the PRA Hardtops. The NASCAR races are scheduled to begin around 8 p.m. The event will be recorded and televised on NBCSN on Saturday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m.
