EUGENE – The Associated Press released the first of its weekly college football top 25 polls on Monday and for the first time in a decade the Oregon Ducks were not on the list.

The Ducks received just 21 votes in the AP preseason top 25, which put Oregon at No. 33 in the eyes of the voters. The last time the Ducks were left out of the preseason top 25 was the 2007 season.

From 2008 through 2016, Oregon was apart of the college football preseason elite. The Ducks were ranked as high as No. 3 to start the year in 2013 and 2014. Last year the Ducks started the season at No. 24.

Alabama was voted No. 1 overall this year, followed by Ohio State, Florida State, USC, and Clemson. Other Pac-12 teams in the top 25 include Washington at No. 8, Stanford at No. 14, and Washington State at No. 24. Utah, Colorado, and UCLA also received votes in the poll.

Oregon begins the season on September 2 against Southern Utah. This Thursday night, catch a full preview of the Ducks starting at 7 p.m. on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
