Former Oregon State quarterback Marcus McMaryion appears to have found his next stop after announcing he would transfer from the Beavers program earlier this week. McMaryion broke the news on his Twitter account yesterday saying he will transfer to Fresno State where he will be eligible to play immediately as a grad student.

McMaryion is from nearby Dinuba, California and Fresno State was quickly mentioned as a landing spot for the junior signal-caller. The media asked Bulldogs’ first-year head coach Jeff Tedford on Tuesday about the possibility of McMaryion joining Fresno State and he admitted there was interest.

McMaryion started six games last year for Oregon State and led the Beavers to back-to-back wins to end the season. Yet, he fell to a back-up role behind Jake Luton, who was named the Beavers’ starter last week by head coach Gary Andersen.

McMaryion is expected to immediately challenge returning starter Chason Virgil for the top spot on the depth chart. He has two years of eligibility left.
