MEDFORD – The Roseburg Indians summer fast pitch team won its 22nd straight game and advanced to the semifinals of the ASA Western National tournament on Friday in Medford.

The Indians outlasted the Washington Angels for an 8-4 victory. Kalie Mann hit a two-run homer and Shalyn Gray and Katie Ladd each hit doubles to drive in runs for Roseburg.

Roseburg started the scoring with five runs in the second inning. The Indians led the rest of the game, adding a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth.

Nicki Derrick pitched seven innings and scattered nine hits. She didn’t give up a run until the sixth inning. The soon-to-be sophomore at North Douglas struck out 12 and walked just four.

The Indians will next face Clovis (CA) in the semifinals on Saturday. Both teams are undefeated in the tournament. The game gets underway at 11 a.m. from US Cellular Field.
