MEDFORD – The Roseburg summer fastpitch softball team has reached the quarterfinals of the ASA Western National Championship tournament after a pair of wins on Thursday in Medford.

The Indians started the day with a 5-1 win over Magic Valley of Idaho. Madysn Blevins threw a complete game, one-hitter and struck out 10.

The game was scoreless over the first four innings, but Roseburg took a 1-0 lead in the fifth. The Indians added another in the sixth and three insurance runs in the seventh. Blevins went 3-for-4 at the plate and Shalyn Gray and Ericka Allen each added two hits.

Magic Valley’s first and only hit came on a solo home run in the seventh inning.

The Indians’ second game of the day came as the sun was setting. Roseburg faced San Marcos of California for a second time in the tournament and won 11-0 in five innings.

Blevins pitched again and allowed just one hit, while striking out three. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate and hit a three-run homer.

Katie Ladd went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Ericka Allen and Alexa Ligon each added two hits.

Roseburg has now won 21 consecutive games and moves on to face the Washington Angels at 1 p.m. The winner moves on to the semifinals on Saturday.
