SPRINGFIELD – The season came to an end in the championship game Sunday for the Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team. Looking to defend their state title from a year ago, the Renegades came up short in a 3-2 loss against Dallas.

Roseburg took the lead twice in the contest. First the Renegades scored in the second inning for a 1-0 lead and they added another run in the fourth for a 2-1 lead. Yet, Dallas tied the game with a run in the home half of the fourth and the game stayed tied 2-2 until the bottom of the seventh.

In the seventh, Dallas scored the game-winning run on an error by the Renegades, their fourth of the contest.

Roseburg finished the season 30-4 and second in the state.
