CENTRAL POINT – The Class-A Umpqua Lions were beat 11-6 at Crater on Thursday to lose their fourth game in their last five. The Lions have been going the wrong way as the season winds down, but they are still in a the race for second place in the Area 4 North standings and a spot in the post season.

Umpqua will get back to league games today with a doubleheader against county rival Roseburg. The Pepsi Bottlecaps can secure at least a share of the league championship with a sweep against the Lions. Meanwhile, Umpqua is trying to keep up with North Coos for second place in the standings.

The Umpqua Lions and Pepsi Bottlecaps square off at 6 p.m. from Legion Field.
