ROSEBURG – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team won its seventh consecutive league title with a sweep of South Eugene on Sunday at Legion Field.

The Renegades scored five runs in the second inning of game one and held off the Axemen for an 8-4 victory in the opener. Roseburg polished off the sweep with a 13-3 victory in game two. The Renegades scored seven times in the seventh inning to pull away for the win. Jace Stoffal finished with four hits and three RBI to lead the Renegades’ offense.

As the league champion, the Renegades will receive a first round bye in the state tournament, which begins Thursday in Eugene at Willamette High School. Roseburg will play its second round game Friday. The Renegades are the defending state champs from last year.
