ROSEBURG – The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s used a late rally in game two of a nonleague doubleheader against the Keizer Crushers to pull off a sweep at Legion Field on Saturday night.

The Doc’s backed up a strong pitching performance with five runs in the sixth inning of game two for a 7-3 comeback victory. Trailing 3-2, Roseburg’s Collin Warmouth came through with a one-out single to score two runs and put the Doc’s in front.

Cody Gray drove in another run on a single, Kyler Leischner added a run with a double, and the Doc’s fifth run of the inning came on a sacrifice fly by Treven Jacks. When the dust settled, Roseburg led 7-3 and Luke Lucido finished off the game with a perfect seventh inning on the mound.

Warmouth finished the game 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Gray added a 3-for-3 day at the plate for the Doc’s with two RBI.

Cody Johnson, Brett Jackson, and Lucido combined to allow just four hits to the Crushers. Jackson earned the victory.

In game one, the Doc’s built a 4-0 lead after two innings and held on down the stretch for a 6-3 victory.

Keizer drew within one run in the fifth inning on a balk by Kyler Leischner, but Roseburg never surrendered the lead. The Doc’s extended the lead back to three runs on a double by Treven Jacks in the fifth inning.

The back-to-back wins are the first for the Doc’s since the team won three-straight against Eugene at the end of June. Roseburg has now won three of its last four.
