CORVALLIS – The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s took a two-run lead in the top of the seventh inning against the Corvallis Gerding Builders Marketmen, but the advantage didn’t last long as Corvallis rallied to win the game 6-5 on Friday night.

Roseburg’s Collin Warmouth capped off a four-run seventh inning with a one-out single to centerfield that drove in two runs and gave the Doc’s a 5-3 advantage. The momentum was short-lived as Corvallis tied the game for a third time with two runs in the home half of the seventh off of Doc’s reliever Braxton Beerbohm.

Corvallis (19-2) held the Doc’s off the board in the eighth and then cashed in on a two-out walk from Roseburg reliever Wryland McKnight. Sean Little drew a base on balls and scored from second on a single to left field by Jacob Trader to put the Marketmen back in front for good.

Riley Smith earned the win on the mound in relief for Corvallis. He closed out the game with a 1-2-3 top of the ninth. The victory was the Marketmen’s 13th-consecutive.

Warmouth, Luke Lucido, and Cody Gray all had two hits in the game for the Doc Stewart’s. Little, Blaise Sims, James Anderson, Nathan Lach, and Justin Doyle all had two hits for Corvallis.

Up next, the Doc’s (8-15) will host the Keizer Crushers for a nonleague doubleheader on Saturday night at Legion Field.
