ROSEBURG – A handful of local products will take the court this weekend in the 59th annual Umpqua Valley Tennis Championships. Current and former Roseburg Indians have entered the competition, which runs Friday morning through Sunday at the Umpqua Valley Tennis Center.

In women’s open singles play, Roseburg’s Adrienne Powell, Sam Eichman and Mackenzie Eichman have all entered the competition. The Eichman sisters, both underclassmen next year at RHS, will also team up for the doubles competition and Powell, a soon-to-be senior at Roseburg, will join Shelby Medak of Roseburg for doubles play.

On the men’s side, cousins Stefan and Lucas Ball, both recent graduates of Roseburg High, are registered for the singles open tournament along with soon-to-be RHS junior Ethan Smith. Lucas will also join Smith for the doubles competition, while Steffan will join up with a player from Corvallis.

The tournament competition begins at 11 a.m. on Friday.
