The Roseburg Pepsi Bottlecaps and the Umpqua Lions will both be in action on Monday before taking Tuesday off for Independence Day.

The Bottlecaps play a single nonleague game at North Medford Monday at 3 p.m. Pepsi is coming off of a 5-0 loss to South Medford at home on Saturday. The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Bottlecaps.

South Medford led 1-0 before the Colts blew open the game with four runs in the sixth inning. Pepsi (12-3; 10-2) managed just three hits in the shutout.

The Umpqua Lions host Cascade Christian for a league doubleheader Monday afternoon.

The Lions are coming off a split against North Coos on Saturday. Umpqua won game one 9-2, but dropped the nightcap 13-8. The loss keeps the Lions (7-5; 7-3) two games behind the Pepsi Bottlecaps for first in the Area 4 North standings.

Game one of Umpqua’s doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. at Legion Field.
