MURPHY, ORE. – The Pepsi Bottlecaps swept a league doubleheader against Hidden Valley on Monday to extend their winning streak to seven games. The ‘Caps took game one 18-6 and finished off the sweep with a 20-0 victory in game two.

In the opener, the Bottlecaps hit three home runs. Brody Black launched two blasts over the fence and finished the game 3-for-3 with six RBI. Doran Gillespie also hit a round-tripper for Roseburg, while Spencer Six went 3-for-3, Jacob Westwang was 2-for-3 with three RBI, and Jett Black was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two triples.

Pepsi scored 11 times in the top of the third inning to blow game one open. The contest was called after five innings. Brody Black was also the winning pitcher in the game.

In the nightcap, Harrison Townsend shut down Hidden Valley. He did not allow a run and scattered five hits in the complete game victory. He finished with five strikeouts on the mound.

Brody Black once again was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two RBI. Six, Gillespie, and Johnathon Stone all had multiple hits in the game as well.

The Roseburg squad retakes the lead in the Area 4 North standings with a 6-2 league record. Pepsi is 8-2 overall on the year. Up next, the Bottlecaps will host Cascade Christian for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
