ROSEBURG – Things got off to a rocky start for the Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s on Sunday at Legion Field. The Doc’s committed six errors in the first three innings and the Salem Withnell Dodgers took advantage for an 11-4 nonleague win.

The Dodgers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning without recording a hit. The Doc’s committed three errors, two wild pitches, and walked two batters. Roseburg tallied a run in the second on a bloop single by Terrell Jacks to cut the deficit down to one, but Salem blew the game open with four runs in the third on another Doc’s error, three hits and four walks.

Salem (5-0) pulled away with another four runs in the sixth inning to take a 10-1 lead. The Doc’s added three runs in eighth, but it was too little too late.

The Doc’s (0-2) actually out-hit the Dodgers, but they left 11 runners on base. Roseburg left seven runners in scoring position.
