KJ Harrison hit a third-inning home run and Bryce Fehmel held Vanderbilt to five hits and two runs on Saturday night in the final game of the season at what has been an electric Goss Stadium. Harrison’s home run was his team-leading eighth and capped off a four-run third inning.
The Commodores scored two in the sixth but OSU scored three in the seventh and two in the eighth to blow open the game.
Fehmel improved to 5-2 in his 12th start of the season, and first since May 6 against California. He struck out a career-best 10 in a complete-game effort.
Steven Kwan, Nick Madrigal, Trevor Larnach and Adley Rutschman all posted two hits to pace the OSU offense, which finished with 12 hits off five Vanderbilt (36-25-1) pitchers. Kyle Wright took the loss after allowing eight hits and seven runs in 6 2/3 innings.
