TUCSON, Ariz. – Oregon State left-handed relief pitchers Brandon Eisert and Jake Mulholland have been named Freshman All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball on Wednesday morning.

With their selections, Oregon State has now had at least one Freshman All-American in 10 of the last 11 seasons.

Eisert, who hails from Beaverton, Ore., enters the Corvallis Super Regional with a 5-0 record, 2.18 earned run average and four saves in 45 1/3 innings. Opponents are batting .188 against him and the lefty has struck out 48 – an average of 9.53 strikeouts per nine innings.

Mulholland, from Snohomish, Wash., leads Oregon State with six saves and 26 appearances. He is 6-1 with a 1.32 ERA in 47 2/3 innings. Opponents are batting .192 against him and he has 40 strikeouts to just 11 walks.

Together, they’ve combined to inherit 48 baserunners when entering a game this season. Only eight have scored, a less than 17-percent success rate for opposing teams. They’ve also combined to retire 41-of-46 (89.1 percent) of first batters faced in relief appearances.

The honor is the second for both Eisert and Mulholland, who were named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
