Glide, Reedsport, and North Douglas will all represent Douglas County in baseball and softball championship games on Friday after pulling off big wins in the semifinals on Tuesday.

The Glide baseball team downed conference rival Pleasant Hill 9-5 to advance to the 3A title game for the first time since 2015. The Billies managed just one hit off of Glide starter Kyler Leischner, but took advantage of three Wildcats errors to keep the game within reaching distance.
Glide had 10 hits in the game and scored at least once in each of the first five innings.

The Wildcats advance to face St. Mary’s of Medford on Friday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer, Oregon.

Glide will play for its fourth state title in school history. The last came in 2014, the first of back-to-back appearances in the championship game for Glide. Friday’s title bout begins at 5 p.m.

The Reedsport baseball team continued its surprising run in the 2A/1A postseason with a 7-4 upset win over top-seed Dufur. This is the first title game appearance for the Braves since 1990 and the program is still seeking its first state title.

Reedsport will face 2-seed Knappa in the title game Friday at 1:30 p.m.

The North Douglas softball team also pulled off a stunning upset in the semifinals Tuesday. The 5-seeded Lady Warriors took down top-seed Kennedy 3-2 to advance to the championship game for a third time in school history.

The game was a pitchers duel, with both hurlers keeping the opposing bats hitless through the first two innings. North Douglas struck first in the third and led the rest of the game.

North Douglas will face 2-seed Pilot Rock in the title game on Friday at the Oregon State University softball complex in Corvallis. The game begins at 1 p.m.

Fans can follow the North Douglas girls and Glide boys from the championship games on CBS Sports Radio 1490 The Score. Both games will air live on the radio.
