The Roseburg softball team won a playoff tune-up game Wednesday. The Indians blasted the Cleveland Warriors 11-0 for their biggest shutout victory of the season. Now the RHS girls turn their attention to the West Albany Bulldogs, who will host the Indians for a first round playoff contest on Monday at 5 p.m.

It was a tough day at the fields for the Glide baseball and softball teams on Wednesday. Playing in league playoff games, the Wildcats lost both contests against the Billies.

The Glide baseball team fell 8-3, while softball lost 5-1. The losses drop the Glide baseball team to the third place team in the Mountain Valley Conference, while softball falls to the second seed in the MVC. Both teams should still qualify for the 3A state playoffs once the brackets are determined this weekend.

The Sutherlin baseball team dropped a pair of games against the Elmira Falcons on Wednesday to finish the season. Elmira won game one 3-1 and took game two 6-5. The Bulldogs finished the season 4-18.

North Douglas baseball beat Oakridge 8-2 in a Special District 3 playoff game Wednesday. The Warriors jumped on the Oakridge with three runs in the first and led the entire game. Jayce Ellis hit a solo home run in the game and was the winning pitcher. North Douglas now moves on to face Oakland in the district playoffs on Friday at 2 p.m.

Reedsport baseball defeated Umpqua Valley Christian 11-1 in six innings on Wednesday in a non-league contest between playoff bound teams. The Braves scored seven runs in the third to break open a 1-1 ballgame. UVC managed just two hits.

The Oakland softball team scored in the first four innings to rack-up a 10-2 win over Lowell in a Special District 3 playoff game Wednesday. The Lady Oakers recorded 15 hits in the contest and had six players notch two hits in the game. Oakland advances to face Monroe in a district playoff game on Thursday at North Douglas High School.
