MEDFORD – The regular season came to an end on Friday for the Roseburg softball team and it didn’t end on a positive note.

The Roseburg girls suffered back-to-back losses against Southwest Conference champion North Medford. The Black Tornado won game one 12-2 and game two 11-0. Both games finished in just five innings.

North Medford scored five runs in the first inning of game one, but the Indians rallied to within three runs heading to the fourth. Those would be the final runs the Indians could muster against North Medford pitcher Rylan Austin.

Roseburg managed just six hits in the twin bill. The Black Tornado tallied 27 hits off of Madysn Blevins.

The losses, combined with wins by other teams in the Southwest Conference, dropped the Indians to fourth place in the final standings. Roseburg will now turn its attention to the state playoffs. the Indians will be on the road in the first round against an opponent yet to be determined.

The first round of the state playoffs will begin on May 22.
