MYRTLE CREEK – The South Umpqua softball team celebrated its senior night on Monday and picked up a 14-4 win over Brookings-Harbor in six innings to clinch at least a share of the Far West League title this year.

The Lady Lancers hold a two-game lead over North Bend with two games left to play and they can secure the outright league title with at least one win over Brookings-Harbor on Wednesday, the final day of the regular season.

COOS BAY – The Douglas softball team lost its fourth straight game on Monday in a 10-0 defeat at the hands of Marshfield. The Lady Trojans have fallen from first place to third in less than a week’s time. With two games left to play, Douglas can still finish third or better in the Far West League and secure a post season game with wins against the Pirates on Wednesday.
