PORTLAND – Roseburg natives Noah Avery and Drew Groshong were winners Tuesday night at the 2nd annual Lewis & Clark College Excellence in Lewis & Clark’s Year of Sports awards show, also known as the ELCYS.
Noah Avery, a sophomore, was named the Joe Huston Male Athlete of the Year. Avery finished third at the Northwest Conference Championships Multi-Events decathlon earlier this month.
Groshong won the Dell Smith Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. The senior golfer placed third at the recent Northwest Conference Championships, his best finish ever in the conference championship tournament.
