MEDFORD – The Roseburg softball team earned a split in a pair of one-run games on the road against South Medford on Friday night.
The Indians jumped ahead in the first inning of the opener and held off the Panthers in the seventh inning for a 7-6 win. Brittany Glasser drove in two runs with a single in the first inning and the Indians led until the Panthers tied the game in the fourth inning.
Roseburg regained the lead with three runs in the fifth inning and took a 7-4 lead into the final frame. The Panthers tried to rally, but fell short of forcing extra innings.
The Indians took the lead first in game two as well, but South pull ahead with two runs in the sixth to win 3-2.
Roseburg managed just seven hits between the two games. Sammie Bergmann was the only RHS player to notch a hit in both contests.
Up next, the Indians will face Sheldon on Tuesday in Eugene.
