BAKER CITY, ORE. – The Days Creek boys basketball team kept its season going with a 50-34 win over Hosanna Christian in a 1A consolation game Thursday morning.

Facing elimination, the Wolves jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the first quarter and just kept extending the lead through the first three quarters. Hosanna Christian outscored Days Creek 11-8 in the fourth quarter, but the margin was too big for a comeback at that point.

Jed Hays and Kameron Stever each scored 13 points to lead Days Creek to victory.

Silas Sanches and Hayden Staub each scored eight points to lead Hosanna Christian. The Eagles finish the season with a 25-4 record.

Up next for Days Creek is a rematch against Skyline League foe North Douglas in the fourth place game on Saturday. The Wolves have beaten the Warriors in three of four games so far this season. The teams most recently met in the Skyline League tournament championship game and Days Creek prevailed 50-44.

The fourth place game will tipoff at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The contest will be broadcast on 1490 The Score.
