BAKER CITY, ORE. – The defending state champs proved to be too much for the North Douglas boys in the 1A state quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon at Baker High School. The Warriors took the lead right out of the gate, but went cold quickly on the way to a 70-39 loss against the Sherman Huskies.

North Douglas held a 6-2 lead after the first minute of the game, but the Warriors were outscored 23-1 the rest of the first quarter and the route was on.

Sherman had three players in double figures, led by Max Martin with 21 points. North Douglas was led by Sean Keenan and Caleb Parks, who each scored 9.

The Warriors now fall into the consolation bracket, where they will face elimination Thursday at 9am. North Douglas will face Crosshill Christian, which lost 57-47 against Perrydale. Hear the game on 1490 The Score.
