GRESHAM, ORE. – The Roseburg boys swimming team improved on last year’s performance at the state meet and finished 10th on Saturday at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham.

The boys 200 yard freestyle relay team scored the most points for the Indians by placing fourth. The Roseburg team had a time of 1:30.19, which was less than one second behind McMinnville for the third place medal.

Individually, junior Robert Gosman placed seventh in the 50 yard freestyle swim with a time of 21.99 and ninth in the 100 yard freestyle race with a mark of 48.56. Senior Dylan Cuatt placed ninth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.23.

The Indians compiled 37 points. Jesuit repeated as state champions with 246 points.

Last year Roseburg finished 13th with 38 points.
