ROSEBURG – The top-ranked Roseburg wrestling team finished off an undefeated conference season with its fifth conference shutout on Thursday night. The Indians had 10 wrestlers record falls to defeat Grants Pass 74-0.

Layne Van Anrooy started the night with a fall in just :34 seconds to win his match at 160 pounds. Other wrestlers to record falls were Austin Harris (182), Haydn Maley (220), Cameron Cross (106), Tristin David (113), Hunter Sparks (120), Tommy Spence (126) , Isaiah Hernandez (132) and Bennett Mesa (138).

The Tribe celebrated the 17 seniors who will graduate from the program this year. Those honored were Parker Adair, Max Labahn, Antony Brown, Cameron Campbell, Isaiah Hernandez, Bailey Humbert, Damian Wells, Matthew McDowell, Bennett Mesa, Keegan Boggs, Noah Stumbo, Layne Van Anrooy, Austin Harris, Randall Alcaraz, Haydn Maley, Chris Escobodo, and Shane Sabins.

Next up for the Indians is the district meet, being held at Roseburg High on Feb. 17 and 18. The tournament starts Friday at 1 p.m. The championship round starts Saturday night, no earlier than 5:30 p.m.
