ELMIRA — Senior Taylor Stricklin led the Sutherlin girls basketball team with  30 points, including  five 3-pointers, on the way to a 52-32 win over Elmira Tuesday night in a Sky-Em League contest on the road.

The win moved the Bulldogs a half-game ahead of Cottage Grove for the league lead. The Lions had their contest on Tuesday against Sisters postponed until Wednesday.

Harlee Baker had 10 points for the Bulldogs, who shut down the Falcons offense in the fourth period and outscored the home team 11-4 to put away the victory. Eliza Sorenson chipped in seven points for the Bulldogs

Miranda Jensen scored 16 points for Elmira (9-9; 3-4 Sky-Em).

Sutherlin led 21-6 after a quarter and kept a 10 to 15 point lead through the first three quarters.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-1 in the Sky-Em League and 16-5 overall.

The Bulldogs host Sisters on Friday. The Outlaws are in 5th place at 2-6 in conference play.
