MEDFORD – The top-ranked Roseburg wrestling team remained undefeated in Southwest Conference duals by beating South Medford 76-0 on Thursday night.

The Indians had seven wrestlers win by fall and had a total of 10 wrestlers compete in the varsity meet. Winning by fall for Roseburg was Bennett Mesa, Shane Sabins, Garrett Russell, Tristin David, Layne Van Anrooy, Austin Harris, and Haydn Maley. Isaiah Hernandez won by major decision and Matt McDowell and Parker Adair won by decision.

The Indians have one final conference dual against Grants Pass next week, before the team hosts the district meet on February 17 and 18.

The Roseburg JV team also shutout the Panthers on Thursday, winning 82-0.

Up next the Roseburg teams will wrestle against Crook County in a non-conference dual at Roseburg High School. The competition begins with the JV teams at 4:45 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m. Prior to the rivalry dual, the team is hosting a dinner with tri-tip and root beer floats at 3 p.m. The cost of dinner is $7.
